Faith and Conviction

Matthew 8:5-13

  • The centurion had faith in Jesus and his authority over sickness
  • Faith - the conviction of the truth of something
  • Conviction is a belief you act on

Hebrews 11-12:2

  • Those listed acted on faith, regardless of anger, envy, bitterness, and disappointment
  • Convictions in the unseen promises of God, faith in the One who is faithful
  • Witnesses are examples of what can be done
  • Jesus looked at the joy beyond the cross - his perfect faith (conviction) led him to act
